I was going to keep away from politics, but since students have been betrayed as hooligans by the politicians and the media of this country.

There's plenty of reasons against not putting up the tuition fees but mainly, it is a tax on those who wish to better themselves. And they are already sacrificing the loss of earnings, they could be making in the years their are at University. When graduates get jobs. I doubt they pay will go up even though these businesses are benefiting from the students that have already sacrificed a great deal of finance and time. Whatever the government says the high debt and potential loss of earnings is going to put people on the University. It would have stopped me, and as there is no apprenticeships. I would have been really buggered.

The media, and especially the Mail are betraying these students as unwashed art students that will amount to nothing. Of all the students I know most studying sciences; chemistry, physics, engineering and computing.

The people protesting at doing so they feel it is greatly unfair that the generation before them, saddling of their great failures on to them. The fees are just part of the problem, we the youth are going to see ourselves working to we are dead with little service is left. This is all a result of a greed and corruption with big business and the banks yet they are getting away scot free, the perfect crime.

So the media, out of all thousands of students. How many of them if they were students at all, or just an attempt to the public to lose favour with the students were actually wrecking the very old, carefully placed police van?. Would you not set fires if you out the cold after being barricaded in four hours and hours without food, water or toilet facilities?. And why is the media, not an uproar about the appalling way the police handled the situation, where they were bullying 15-year-old children in an attempt to make sure they never stood up for them selves again. All because this has happened organically through the Internet via twitter and facebook. This was not the work of some anarchis lefty group of students and schoolchildren that want the same great education at the same cost as the people before them.

Now, this is not just an argument about education fees, but the right to protest, the right to be heard. Not the media telling lies to protect the government so they do what they want, or the bbc scared to say anything but what the rest of the media says in case there is a witch hunt to bring down the bbc.

And the right politicians are trying to keep to their manifesto and issead of coming out with bullshit and atmint changed his mind power and money.

In the words of Sham 69, if the kids are united they'll never be divided.

Another Update, Who do we play?

As you know, we are slowly bringing GimpFM back from the dead and so we are going to give you an update on the progress.

We now have the website rolled out and some problems have been found and in the process of being fixed but that’s not all, we are also working on the media streaming which is nearly there.

But a few months back, we got asked a question via Facebook. “What music will we play?”. I think the best way to sum it up is good old ‘rock n roll’ mainly from around the 60’s to the start of the 80’s but every now and then a more recent release from our favourite bands.

Because we are now doing everything in-house, we can play what we like and so once the stream is finally up, we will be playing random music from our catalogue (As mentioned below). The music catalogue is much like the previous GimpFM catalogue but with some of the artists more condensed and some extra artists added and so is a great variation and the best of the best that GimpFM owns.

Please take notice, we do not play music that we don’t like, we do not play specific songs or artists just to make GimpFM “Cool” or “Trendy”. If the music is good and we like it, we will play it. As you can see, we will be playing all sorts of genre’s like Classic Rock, Punk, Soul and Rythm and Blues.

We like many bands especially the ones before it all got a bit too SpinalTap and we see GimpFM as an indulgence into the music that we love and we love music with soul and passion not some “Text-Book” band that is the flavour of the month
We will be continuing the tradition of helping new “up and coming” bands to get into the lime light and get the publicity that they deserve with a specific show every week as we like the small artists (not as in midgets) but we will be making sure that the quality of these bands are still high class and good but also they won’t be bands that conform to “Simon Cowels Naxi Pop Chart”.

So if you want to listen to one of the bands that we don’t play then visit one of the other “Rock Radio Stations” if you are stuck for ideas, then just try this google search.

Charities, Television and Rubbish

Well everyone it’s November and ‘Kids blow their body parts off day’ or better known as Bonfire Night has past and Terry Wogan is on telly so it means ‘act special needs day’ is coming up.

My problem with the whole thing is that you are expected to hand over some of your money to some nutters dressed up in what can only be envisaged as the male appendage and then you’re left thinking “Is my money ever going to get to the teen alcoholic with 3 kids that’s being beaten by her Mother/Boyfriend and possibly Great Dane so she can get off the booze and buy a baseball bat to do over the mam, boyfriend and the dog. OR will the giant penis spend the money in the local boozer?”
Why not just give it to the RSPCA so when the teen alcoholic goes to hit the Great Dane they can catch her and completely miss out the middle man/wasteage.

So that is TV wrecked for the night, because instead of holding the telly to ransom until x amount of pounds has been raised (and maybe being sneaky like the Somali Pirates and asking for more) they just leave the crap on TV with has-beens until is late O’clock and every now and then some ridiculous pop song or crappy cover with news readers dancing trying to be funny appearing.

Hmm, as a side thought, can you imagine if we reversed that and got Harry Hill to do the news? “There has been more conflict in the Middle-East between the Palestinians’ and Israeli’s, Now I love them both but there can only be one. There’s only one way to find out; FIGHT!” Somehow I can’t see that happening.

So that’s Telly done over with for the night, how about a swift pint to pass the hours? No! You’re once again bombarded with crap such as “Children in Need Karaoke” now lets forget the bloody children, I’m in dire need of a pint without some fat bird crying down a microphone somehow making a crap Elton John Song even worse and looking like she is going to eat her own fist because she holds the microphone so close to her mouth, “No, it’s not a sandwich, pet.”

So on Friday the 19th November I think it will be a night of watching News of the World re-runs and old Top-Gears on a cycle all day on BBC Dave.

I am sorry for not updating the blog much but I was only recently freed by Pudsey the Pirate.

May I finally say, Please give to charity as it’s helping those that need it most but stop the rubbish that seems to HAVE to surround it.

Yes, it has been all quiet on the GimpFM front for a while but we've been working away inside like a hamster in a weel.
We have nearly finished out brand new site, we have also been testing the audio stream which works really well.
So what's left now? We have to finish the site off and polish off the support for all the popular browsers out there, we then need to purchase our PRS music license, so we can play all the music we like to you.
So in the near future you could be listening to GimpFM once again!
